All of our weekend events will be written prior to the start of the season, 80% complete with fleshed out Non Player Characters and appropriate props. We will use Rules approved for Playtests as distributed by National, and provide feedback to National on all Rules play tested. We will not distribute formal magic scrolls that break the rules of the game. No 'hiding' transforms, no 'effects not permitted by the rules', and every character will always look like themselves as well as the creature they have transformed into. Formal Magic effects will only be distributed through the use of formal magic scrolls as magic items within the treasure distribution policy (i.e. 1 year and 2 year). Transform to other creature will be given through npc's as awards for missions accomplished, and only as a prestige type of award for players who role play in earnest the characteristics of the creature they wish to transform into. Our NPC's will award players with the ability to 'transform to other creature' through formal magic scrolls and the treasure distribution, not by 'laying hands' and 'imbuing' a non-immediate 'hostile' transform upon the spirit. The National Monster Manual will be used. All new monsters will have statistics designed and approved prior to an event, or they will not be used. New Monsters will NOT be created at an event. If we do design a unique monster, for scaling reasons, there will not be multiple numbers of that monster. We will physically represent all of our monsters with Mask, Makeup, or Multi-person costume. This means a Giant will be played by a really tall person with Football pads on his shoulders. Multi-NPC monsters should be played by very responsible and mature role-players. We will not run any "save the world" plot-lines unless we communicate with national and will give national 12 months advance notice to review our world affecting storyline. All of our villains and adversaries will be designed to fit into the flow of the campaign plot. There will be villains who make a sudden appearance and get defeated so strongly by the players that they may never be heard from again. We will never run plot that changes history or that is designed to make any of our Non Player Characters more powerful. We will not Run Plot that will force a player to change race, class, or skills in whole or in part. While plot lines sometimes provide players with the opportunity to accomplish these things through use of the NERO Formal Magic System (C), we will not force this upon our players at our events. We will, on occasion, use the ability to cast Formal Magic Spells as Battle Magic spells against PCs. Such things will occur off-board and in tales, and in-game by only the most powerful formal casters. If any player determines a way through our plots, we will let them do it. We will not write around a clever idea from the players in order to keep a plotline alive and unchanged. If a plotline is not providing entertainment to the players, we will wrap up the loose ends on it quickly and shelve it even if it has not yet reached its intended conclusion or alter the plot as necessary. Racially oriented plot lines will be designed such that they will not require a group involved to be exclusively of one race to insure that players may bring their friends on adventures with them. We will award goblin points only in accordance with the national goblin award policy, insuring that all of the members who earn awards are 100% 'national' and without any favoritism or from awards given that were not earned. Finally, cheating will be reviewed and dealt with immediately, whether it involves PC, NPC, or staff member. Any concerns and/or complaints can be directed to any staff member of NERO®.
