Kingdom of Avendale Summary

Avendale is a small frontier land on the edge of Evendarr. In 597, Niomi Avendale, a knight of Evendarr, led an expedition to the northern frontier to investigate the disappearance of her ancestor, Katherine Galenson. The Galenson expedition, which had left from Evendarr over two hundred years ago, set out looking for the ruins of the Hadran Empire, but never returned.

In the savage front, she forged alliances with the reclusive elves of the Silvermyst forest and the honorable Dark Elves of Nebulonde. She founded a new Kingdom and ruled over it as Queen. She found the ruins of Brisbane, a once great Empire cursed by the gypsies it betrayed. She met the vampire Karvecki, the murderer responsible for the death of countless - including her ancestor.

The Scorpion Clan Barbarians beat their shields in unison and rage into the cities of Avendale. The honorable Minotaurs are not giving up their territory quietly. The Lord of the Haunted Wood sends his Unseelie into the night. An enigmatic race of amphibious scholars that live under Frost Lake make lightning strikes against a nation that refused to submit. The people of Avendale hold steadfast.

The land is cursed. Built on the graves of thousands of gypsies betrayed by a mad man and persecuted to the final death, the land itself stirs restlessly. The dead rise from their unmarked graves and seek to fulfill the land's accursed destiny - that no one shall rule until justice is served.

In 601 ER, Niomi died in battle with Karvecki, but the bold people of Avendale carry on her tradition. She left behind her husband, Viscount Tavernier Septorian and her newborn child, Prince Stefanos. The border to the north is constantly being pushed back as Avendale expands deeper into uncharted territory. This is a land of courage and high adventure. Children become adults in a summer; the harsh land is a forge of heroes.
