This page will be updated by 6-15-2011 with a better set of 'what we each do'. Provide your thoughts on what we each should do to Joseph Valenti.

National Does This;

1)     License the NERO game system (the NERO rule book, NERO Formal and Cantrip magic systems, NERO rules-in-Playtests, NERO game policies (private & public), the treasure distribution policy).

2) Insure that each chapter maintain adherence to their License.

3)      Communicates in public when necessary to answer questions or respond to inaccurately stated information.

4)      Review actions of chapter owners or staff (volunteers) when we receive a complaint at the national office. Communicate with the complainer to explain all sides of the story (which usually resolves the challenge for the member).

5)      Help facilitate resolution of challenges between owners (every challenge needs to be resolved to maintain friendly relations)

6)      Promotes NERO throughout north America in an effort to open more chapters and attract new members.

7)      Provide support and advice to licensees when available, either directly or through staff.

8)  Provide access to the NERO Rule book, NERO Coin.

NERO Chapters;

1) Operate their business without intervention from national except when they violate our agreement (the Nero license) or they request help from us (we would love to help you, AIM=JValenti@nerolarp.com jvalenti@nerolarp.com or (914) 309-7718.)

Pay royalties on-time every month or communicate your reason why it isn't being included when you submit your monthly earning statement.

Submit a monthly earning statement. we keep track of how much you submit each year and we make pie charts and such with them for analysis. We also track the number of new members you bring in and your total event attendance numbers.

Do not misrepresent NERO in the public. Do not make negative statements about nero national, its staff, its initiatives, the game system, in the public. National and its staff do not make statement about your chapter in public, or start rumors about your chapter, and we expect you and your staff to toe the same line. If you or your staff makes a statement about National or one that goes against our agreement, expect national representative or myself to make a public statement correcting your incorrect statement and/or provide the nero national side of the story.  Come to National first, with anything you want to state 'against' it's initatives.

2)      Promotes their nero chapter in all of the territory they were granted for operational territory - and outside their territory when applicable and preferred. Bring in new players.

Attend 2 or 3 game conventions per year, in your local area.

Get fliers to the RA's in nearby college dorms - 1 for every student.

Search Engine submissions bring your chapter to the top of your area's search engines for LARP. We can help you with this.

How many links are TO your site is more important than how many links come from your site. Swap Links, RPG related, work. The best way to do this is to get a page up there with all of the chapters and their websites, and make sure every chapter has yours on their website. Some savvy websites 'grab' the nerolarp.com chapters webpage, which is ok too I am thinking.

Attract new players, always - Attract 50 new players in your first 6 months, and keep a steady flow of new players throughout the course of the year.

Schedule your weekend events and conventions at the same time so they do not conflict, and leave a gap if possible between events and conventions so you do not burn yourself or your staff out but also so prospects have time to read the rule book (free download on the website!) and get some gear for the event. I try for every 4 weeks and choose 5 week period before I go for 3 week period. First 2 weeks of may seem to be college finals so check to see when your customers have schooling finals and schedule around that too.

3)      Work in a fair manner with neighboring chapters and national to provide excellent events and high quality customer service.

I have seen enough chapters fail because they took a negative stance toward a nero chapter that opened up near them. New chapters htat open with a negative attitude toward the closest chapter will have more than enough of its own problems as well.

Don't let some of the more nefarius players pit you against each other.
